Ross Beauchamp (“Beech-um”) has been teaching cello in the Philadelphia area for over 15 years. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in cello performance from Boston University, as well as a bachelor’s of civil engineering from the University of Delaware. His teachers included Louisa Marks and Douglas McNames of the Delaware Symphony, and Michael Reynolds of Boston University’s Muir String Quartet. In addition to teaching, Ross also performs regularly as a freelance cellist throughout the Delaware Valley with ensembles such as the Delaware, Reading, Bay-Atlantic, and Kennett Symphonies.
Ross enjoys teaching students from ages seven to adult, and encourages his students to develop good technique as well as an expressive, rich sound on the instrument. Many of his students play in area youth orchestras, and some have achieved District, Regional, and State Orchestra in Pennsylvania.
