Suzuki Violin Group Lessons at Taylor's

Suzuki group lessons are now being offered at Taylor's Music Store. Founded by legendary Japanese teacher Shinichi Suzuki, the Suzuki Violin Method is one that seeks to realize the fullest musical and personal potential of each child through the medium of violin. At the heart of the Suzuki philosophy is the belief that children learn music in exactly the same matter in which they absorb language - through constant immersion and repetition in the home environment. Just as children learn to speak their native tongue, so too can children become proficient in music.

The Suzuki Method develops the student's listening skills and encourages a level of critical thinking. It focuses on the overall emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of a student. The group lessons are opened to students who are currently studying the Suzuki Method privately and would like to participate in bi-monthly group lessons. Participation in group lessons is a vital part of the Suzuki student's development as well as provides a chance to work with other young students. In the group lesson a student will review the Suzuki repertoire as well as develop technical skills and musical expression. Attendance is important as well as listening to the reference recordings of Suzuki books and memorization is required,
