Amy Menginie has been teaching beginner - advanced piano for the
past 11 years and has been playing/performing the piano for 16 years.
Her music interests vary greatly, but favorites include Jazz, Classical,
and Rock.
She has experience playing a wide variety of instruments including Saxophone,
Voice, and Guitar.
Amy is a graduate from West Chester University with a B.S. in Music Education
and a minor in Music History. She currently teaches general music and
is one of the choir director's at St. Bernadette's school in Drexel Hill.
Amy is a classically trained pianist and brings that training into her
teaching, however she is also experienced in teaching contemporary, Blues,
and multi-cultural music and enjoys using several different learning styles
to adapt to the student's personal needs. She is also an active member
of the MENC (National Association of Music Educators), PMEA (Pennsylvania
Music Educators Association), VIP member of Cambridge Who’s Who
registry of executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs, The National
Honors Society, and The Modern Language Association of America.
Amy has experience performing in varies venues all around the Pennsylvania
area, South Carolina, Texas, and Romania. The combination of her classical
training and worldly performing experiences has given her new ideas and
new ways of teaching her students. She believes in a student based lesson
plan which focuses on a basic teaching method (which includes Alexander
technique) and then takes the interests of the individual students to
create an enjoyable teaching experience.
Amy enjoys teaching students aged 7 to adult - beginner through advanced.
