George Whittam has been a trumpet performer for most of his life. While spending time in the Navy in the late 60’s George was a member of the Sixth Fleet Admiral’s Band on board the aircraft carrier USS Wasp. Since then George has kept his lips in shape playing with several bands and pit orchestras in the Delaware Valley. George is the leader and producer of the big swing band Big G And The Cool Cats. George’s focus is on tone, breathing and range, an absolute prerequisite for a great playing technique. George’s musicality is influenced by trumpeters such as Louis Armstrong, Maynard Ferguson, Doc Severinson, and Chris Botti, just to name a few. George accepts students from beginner through High School. Trumpet playing has been a fun experience and George is anxious to share it with you.
