Taylor's and Mark have had a musical relationship dating back to 1968.
At the age of 7 Mark began his guitar studies with then Taylor's teacher
Pam Hoberg. In his 41 years of playing he has studied with guitarists
Jack Marshall (rock), John Lilley (jazz), Steve Giordano (jazz), Carlos
Rubio (flamenco), Joe Mayes (classical) and Peter Segal (classical).
Mark graduated from Unionville High School in 1978. He attended Temple
University where he received his Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar
Performance in 1983 under the study of Peter Segal . In his studies, Mark
has played in classical guitar master classes given by Carlos Barbosa-Lima
and Oscar Ghiglia.
On the performance level, Mark performs as a solo nylon string, steel
six string, and twelve string guitarist. He plays a variety of music styles
including classical, flamenco, popular, and folk around the tri-state
area. Mark also co-founded the unique music trio One Alternative. With
the instrumentation of oboe and two acoustic guitars, One Alternative's
music is played and heard around the world. Check out a live performance

Mark has been teaching guitar at Taylor's since 1980. He has recently
added Ukelele to his list of instruments to teach. He has the patience
and motivational skills for beginners as well as the expertise to help
guitarists, prepare for music school / college auditions. Mark specializes
in classical, rock, folk (including fingerpicking, alternate tunings,
& 12 string guitar), blues (including slide guitar), electric bass,
and beginner flamenco guitar. The reading and writing of music notation
is also taught and encouraged by Mark.
