Miriam teaches violin, cello, and viola and has a private studio of both traditional and Suzuki students for the past ten years. Miriam is currently the string instructor at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown. Miriam holds a Bachelor of Arts from Immaculata College with majors in History, Accounting, and Music (violin performance), and a Master of Science in Taxation from Widener University.Miriam performs as a violinist with the Immaculata Symphony and the Chester County Pops Orchestra. In addition to her teaching skills, her students have performed at the Franklin Institute, Lankenau Hospital, Kimmel Center and various other venues throughout the Chester County area. She has also prepared students to be selected for “PRYSM” youth orchestra, “All Catholic” orchestra, honor and select strings.Miriam is a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the Greater Philadelphia Suzuki Association, PMEA and MENC. Miriam has also completed teacher training in 2003 University of Miami School Of Music Suzuki Institute, in February 2005 in a Violin Techniques Course and Overview of Suzuki Book 1-6 at the Miami Friends Meeting House and 2010 at The Jacobs School of Music – Indiana University under Mimi Zweig. Miriam’s students have the unique opportunity to perform in a winter and a spring recital for their family and friends. Miriam approach to teaching is to have a special connection with the string instrument through the development of technique, tone and musicality. Miriam enjoys teaching students from age 4 to adult. |
