Steve Leps is a patient and caring teacher who strives to make his students the best musicians they can be, while providing an environment where the teacher/student relationship can grow comfortably. He is a fun, down-to-earth professional who is interested in giving his students what they want out of their lessons and to guide them in becoming capable musicians in today’s world. Steve also remains flexible and understanding of the complex modern teenage life and a parent’s busy schedule.Steve has been playing music his whole life. He started at a young age on the drums, began the guitar in his teenage years, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a concentration in Classical Guitar from West Chester University. There, he was trained on many different instruments, including bass and piano. He also extensively studied music history, theory, composition, and methods of teaching music. Throughout the years, Steve has played many styles of music at a variety of different types of gigs in an equally diverse list of venues, ranging from thousands of attendants to a small hand full. For each of his students, he passes the knowledge he has gained throughout the years to them in hopes that their gig experiences be joyful and memorable.Currently, Steve teaches lessons at Taylor’s Music as he has been
for the past 7 years, plays bass in an old school R&B/classic rock
band called DRIVE26, plays RockBand on XBOX, plays loud guitars through
big amps, writes and records his own music, works as the Audiovisual Coordinator
for Lankenau Hospital, and does his best to enjoy life with his beautiful
wife and daughter. Teaching and playing music with his students helps
him do just that. |
