Miriam Crivaro teaches violin and viola and has a private studio of both traditional and Suzuki students for the past 15 years. She has experience teaching in the elementary and high school settings. Miriam holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Immaculata University with majors in History, Accounting and Music and a Master of Science in Taxation from Widener University. Miriam has studied under the direction of Shannon “Moonsun” Lee for both lessons and pedagogy. Miriam has attended Suzuki Institutes in Miam with Libby Armour and Rhoda Cole. She has also attended the Jacobs School of Music – Indiana University under Mimi Zweig. Miriam is a concert violinist and performs with the Immaculata Symphony and Chester County Pops. Miriam is also a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
Miriam students have performed at Suzuki Play-Ins at the Please Touch Museum and Franklin Institute, Her students have also performed at Lankenau Hospital, the Kimmel Center and various other venues throughout the Chester County area. Her students have also participated at West Chester University String Fest and PMIF festival in Bryn Mawr. Her students have auditioned and been selected to participate “PRYSM” youth orchestra, Elementary String Orchestra, “All Catholic” Orchestra, honor and select strings and PMEA String Fest. Her students also participate in a winter and spring recital held each year at Taylor’s Music Store.
Miriam’s approach to teaching is to have a special connection with the string instrument through the development of technique, tone and musicality. She challenges her students to perform at their best and always to strive to the next level. She accepts students 4 years old to adults.
