Charity Harter is a passionate and committed instructor who instills her love of music with her students. Her teaching experience spans two decades. To keep a student’s interest she finds ways for them to invest in their education by choosing music on their own to play as well as providing what she knows will move the student forward. She incorporates music theory and composition into lessons and encourages as much live performance as possible.
Charity is a graduate of Bridgewater College with a B.A. in Music and studied with Dr. Reginald Fink at Ohio University where she pursued a Master’s Degree in Music History and Literature. Along with teaching at Taylor’s, Charity is an Adjunct Professor of Low Brass Studies at Lincoln University.
Charity has performed in many types of ensembles from Dixieland to Orchestral to Big Band to Klezmer. She currently performs with the Owls Nest Brass Quintet, Bow Tree Brass, Lenape Brass, Miner Street Brass, and the West Chester Swing Kings.
