Doug Jasik
Doug Jasik strives to develop a rapport with his students in order to tailor his teaching approach to each student’s needs. He feels strongly that gaining their trust is invaluable in helping them build skills and confidence. The most rewarding part of teaching is embracing the diversity of musicians he encounters at all skill levels and ages, as young as five. Student achievements under his tutelage include “Artist of the Month” (Episcopal Acad.), “Best Overall Orchestra and Chorus Member” (UCFSD), acceptance into the Chester County Youth Orchestra, and acceptance into PA district, regional, and state honors ensembles.
Doug studied with Philadelphia Orchestra violinist David Booth and former Assistant Concertmaster David Arben. Additionally, he’s an accomplished jazz musician and teacher in improvisation and composition, studying under Dennis Sandole and Vic Juris. As an accomplished Violinist/Violist, he’s performed with Tony Bennett, Diana Ross, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, AVA Opera Company, Orchestra 2001, and the Filarmonica de Caracas (Venezuela), among many others.
