Mark Oppenlander
Mark Oppenlander teaches electric & acoustic guitar, 12 string-guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele. He specializes in all styles of rock, blues (including slide guitar), reggae, latin, funk, classical, and flamenco guitar. Mark is an adept teacher being very comfortable teaching students ages 6 and up, beginner through advanced. He tailors the study of the guitar to each student’s abilities and strives to make the learning process a positive experience.
Mark’s guitar education started at Taylor’s Music when he was 7 years old. Ten years later he was named “Outstanding Senior Musician” at Unionville High School and then went on to study at Temple University where he received his Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance at Temple University. Outside of teaching Mark has been dedicated to the music written and performed by his unique music group called One Alternative. Over the years One Alternative has recorded seven albums that can be heard on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio, Pandora, Spotify, NPR, and various audio outlets around the world. They have performed at the Keswick Theatre, Penn’s Landing, the World Cafe Live and Longwood Gardens. Mark plays regularly as a soloist and with One Alternative in the West Chester area.
