The progress I’ve made with Thomas has been unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. He has been the best fit for what I needed in the next step of my journey playing piano. He took the time to learn and understand exactly where I was when we started and completely tailored our lessons to go back to basics of reading sheet music, while at the same time introducing pieces to learn for myself and to perform in front of others. Thomas has a huge capacity to help me grow as a pianist. But I will say, you must come prepared to do your side of the leg work. Something I need from an instructor is to feel like I’m being pushed to something greater, to feel just a little bit out of my comfort zone. From my experience, Thomas continues to provide all of that. Anyone who can relate to my experience I can assure will benefit from his teaching and mentorship.
After years of playing on my own, I was hungry to play more complex music, but I didn’t know where to begin. I knew I needed a teacher’s guidance and was very lucky to find Thomas. The weekly feedback at our lessons keeps me moving forward in my piano journey. His emphasis on technique is helping me replace unhelpful habits with correct fingering and hand positions. It is amazing how much easier tough passages become after coaching. The curriculum includes a variety of music that keeps me challenged. Learning music theory as we go along has been extremely helpful in understanding the music. The feeling that my skills are increasing keeps me coming back to the piano day after day. I know it is a long journey to play this instrument well and I am thankful to have Thomas helping me along the way.
